Smart Energy GB response to the BEIS quarterly report on smart meter installations
The Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS) has published statistics for smart meter installations from April to the end of June 2018.
Robert Cheesewright, Director of Policy and Communications at Smart Energy GB, said:
“It’s great news that over 12 million smart meters have now been installed, moving us on from an outdated, inefficient analogue system and delivering billions of pounds worth of savings to the economy while helping people save money on their gas and electricity bills.
“People with smart meters are already experiencing the benefits. Our research shows that more than eight in ten of people with smart meters have taken steps to reduce energy waste and the majority of people say they have a better idea of what they are spending on energy.”
