Responding to Hitachi's decision to halt construction of its nuclear power station in Wylfa, Robert Cheesewright, Director of Corporate Affairs at Smart Energy GB, said:

“Today’s announcement makes clear that Britain is failing to build new nuclear power capacity. It’s vital we have a renewable energy system built on a smart grid requiring smart meters in every home, or we risk a full blown energy crisis .”
