Smart Energy GB, the voice of the smart meter rollout, and the Carbon Trust have teamed up to produce an employers’ guide to smart meters and energy efficiency at home and at work.
The new, free-to-download guide for employers explains how to design and run an energy efficiency awareness campaign at work, including giving practical advice to employees on how they can benefit from getting a smart meter and saving energy at home.
Everyone in Great Britain can get a smart meter, at no extra cost, from their energy supplier. Smart meters bring an end to estimated bills, and show you exactly how much energy you are using in pounds and pence.
Employers can get involved with Smart Energy GB’s national campaign, alongside this guide, to make employees aware of the opportunity to get a smart meter and save energy at home. Encouraging employees to save energy at home can help relieve financial pressure, help build a more motivated workforce and can also inspire people to save energy in the workplace.
Employers including the NHS, Hilton Hotels and Adnams are already working with staff, helping them to get smart meters as part of the Smart Energy Employer's scheme.
