Smart Energy GB breaks through the screen with 2016 Campaign Media Awards win

Smart Energy GB, the voice of the smart meter rollout, has taken home another win for its Gaz & Leccy cinema takeover in the Financial, Corporate & Utilities sector of the Campaign Media Awards

The winning execution, which last night landed Smart Energy GB’s 12th marketing award of 2016, clocked up almost five million views in just four weeks when it was released in the autumn of 2015. 

The unique film shows Gaz & Leccy wreaking havoc in a 4D, live cinema event. It encapsulates how gas and electricity is out of control – allowed to run amok in our homes without the all-important visibility and control that smart meters bring. 

Smart meters are being offered to everyone in Great Britain between now and 2020, at no additional cost. More than 4 million have already been installed and are transforming the way we buy and use gas and electricity. 

This kind of inventive and visually stimulating content, at the forefront of digital innovation, is essential for a national campaign tasked with engaging every household in Great Britain with smart meters.

The winners of the Campaign Media Awards were announced on Wednesday 9th November at a ceremony hosted by radio DJ Edith Bowman, at the iconic London Hilton on Park Lane. 

The Campaign Media Awards celebrate creativity and innovation in the media business. The winners were selected by a jury of 20 judges from across the industry. 

This latest award adds to the accolades the Smart Energy GB campaign has already won this year, including a Digital Impact Award, a Digital Cinema Media Award, two Campaign BIG awards, four British Arrows Awards, and an IDEAS award
